Situated between the beautiful cities of Altea and Denia, Javea provides a magnificent view of the coastline of Costa Blanca. This view can be seen from a long stretch of Javea’s main road about 80 km northeast of Alicante. It is embedded between the two bays called the Cabo San Antonio and the Cabo San Martin.
Javea experiences pleasant weather all throughout the year and the temperature only reaches up to 40°C. There are actually three different divisions in the city —the village, the port and the area surrounding the beach of Javea where interesting shops and impressive architectures can be found. The inhabitants of Javea are proud to have preserved some of the old parts of Javea as depicted in the old-fashioned houses and remnants of earlier architecture. There are little shops and hotels as well, allowing travellers to make the most of their Javea experience.
With an estimated population of 24,000, the quaint city of Javea also features numerous restaurants and bars at the Avenida del Mediterraneo along the harbour area. Most locals and tourists visit this commercial area to simply relax and unwind after a busy day. Tourists will also find that there are indeed other must-see views in Javea such as the Iglesia de San Bartolome, a church built back in the 12th century. Also notable in Javea is the museum Soler Blasco which can be found in the calle Primicias. The museum displays a copy of the treasure of Javea as well as jewelleries from the past centuries.
Combining the past with the present and traditions with modernity, Javea brings a Spanish experience truly worth remembering.
