MORAIRA

Moraira is situated just about 8 kilometres away from Teulada. It is an old fishing town nestled between Denia, Calpe and Altea. A very peaceful town on the Costa Blanca region, Moraira, has managed to maintain its identity and fuse it with the benefits of modern tourism.

At present, Moraira is a thriving hub of activity brought about by an active tourist community. With the mild Moraira weather, leisurely strolls are always fantastic. In Moraira, narrow streets take you to the Plaza de la Constitucion (Constitution Square), where the Town Hall is located. Mainly considered as the centre and most valued property for all local residents, Moraira’s Church Square is one of the most interesting spot in the city. It is in this square that you will see the Saint Catherine Church, a Renaissance temple-fortress construction from the 16th century that once served as a hiding place for the townspeople when the pirates attacked.

With the Mediterranean Sea stretched out at its feet and a beautiful mountain range covering its back, Moraira is truly picturesque city. Aside from its rich historic architecture, the city takes pride in its crystalline waters and a vibrant nightlife by the beach. It is also a fantastic venue to try out different water sports because the area is relatively safe.

Moraira remains to be a beautiful town worth visiting and returning to because of its preserved tradition despite the inevitable trends of modernity. For a Spanish experience worth remembering, visit Moraira and you are assured of a memory to last a lifetime.
