GRANADA AIRPORT

Granada Airport is conveniently located at the plains of the River Genil (Vega del Genil) in the province of Andalucia.



History of Granada Airport dates back to the year 1911 when the first recorded flight in Santa Fé happened to celebrate Corpus Chisti. In 1972 the terminal building of Granada Airport was opened boasting of world-class facilities. The building caters up to 550 departures and 600 arrivals per hour. It also has an apron with 25 stands. Out of these stands, eleven are used for commercial planes only. A bar-restaurant and a shop can also be found within the terminal building for the convenience of those waiting for their flights.

Airport services include daily departures of buses passing La Caleta, Avda. de la Constitución, Gran Vía, and Palacio de Congresos to the many major cities in the province. This airport also gives very easy access to Europe's southern most ski resort in the Sierra Nevada mountains, as well Alhambra Palace, from where you are within easy reach of the Costa Tropical with towns such as Motril, Almunecar, Salobrena, La Herradura.

Aside from the scheduled buses, taxis from different car rental companies are also available with prices ranging from 17 EUR for service to the city, 25 EUR to Alhambra, and 63 EUR to the Sierra Nevada.
