REUS AIRPORT
Located 3km from its city, 13km northwest of Tarragona and 110km south of Barcelona is the Reus Airport.It is one of the innovative variety of airports that gives their passengers easy access to the beaches of the Costa Dorada, and the Universal Mediterranean theme park resort which includes Port Aventura, as well as, the popular destination Salou. In addition, some passengers who may have a difficulty in finding a direct budget flight to Barcelona use Reus as an arrival point then taking an airport transfer to the Catalan capital.
Airlines served by the Reus Airport (Code: REU) are Iberia and Ryanair, with flights from Luton Airport, Stansted Airport, Liverpool Airport, Dublin Airport and Frankfurt International Airport, and this year’s newest addition from Glasgow Prestwick.
This influx of flights has led to dramatic increases in the number of passengers, with 2005 estimates coming in at 1.4 million, which in turn has led to several ongoing improvements at the airport, such as a new arrivals hall and the renovation of the departure terminal.
To get off the airport to your destination is as easy as the Mediterranean breeze. Directly outside the airport is a taxi rank and for those who wish to leave by bus, there is an accessible bus stop right in front of the arrivals door. Of course one can also arrange for Reus airport transfer or a rent a car which is readily available.
