TOSSA DE MAR

In the South part of the Costa Brava, is the fairly laidback town of Tossa de Mar. During the 18th and 19th centuries, Tossa was a thriving port, dealing mainly in cork but when this industry died down, Tossa de Mar opened its doors to tourists and thus became one of the hottest destinations in Spain.

Of Roman origin, this town houses the remnants of that olden civilization. Three historic towers have been preserved in this area and still are drawing awe from tourists as they get a glimpse of the past: the Homage Tower, the Entrance Tower and the Jonas Tower. Another enchanting medieval neighbourhood, the Vila Vella is a must-visit for it too never fails to transport visitors back to the glorious past.

The climate in Tossa de Mar is typical of Mediterranean areas, with its four differentiated seasons—a hot summer, a rainy fall, a cold winter and a sunny spring.

Once a secret haunt for artists and writers and was dubbed as a "blue paradise." It prides itself of two main beaches, Mar Gran and La Bauma, where one can frolic under the sun, while sipping the town’s signature drink, the sangria – a fruity and sweet blend of wine, lemonade, sugar and an assortment of Mediterranean fruits.

Visiting Tossa de Mar is guaranteed to be an enriching and fruitful experience.
