San Pedro del Pinatar is located just above the impressive Northern shores of saltwater lake Mar Menor in a coastal spot on the Mediterranean. The name of the town means St. Peter of the Pine Woods. Designated as a Nature Reserve Regional Park on 1985, its saltworks are the most significant marshland areas in the region of Murcia in south eastern Spain.
