SAN PEDRO DEL PINATAR
San Pedro del Pinatar is located just above the impressive Northern shores of saltwater lake Mar Menor in a coastal spot on the Mediterranean. The name of the town means St. Peter of the Pine Woods. Designated as a Nature Reserve Regional Park on 1985, its saltworks are the most significant marshland areas in the region of Murcia in south eastern Spain.During summertime, many Spanish locals and tourists are attracted to San Pedro del Pinatar. Lengthy beachfronts, marinas and a dazzling promenade can be found in the suburb of Lo Pagan in San Pedro del Pinatar. The city’s infrastructure is also well-developed even when most of the ancient San Pedro del Pinatar has retained much of its culture and tradition.
San Pedro is also known for its weekly street market, exceptional shops and recreational facilities where locals and travellers can simply relax and have a good time. The town of San Pedro del Pinatar enjoys a warm climate more than 320 days a year and a very mild winter. Other special tourist spots include the Salinas de San Pedro del Pinatar Regional (where birds come to nest) and the Park the Quintín mill, an important architectural symbol in the town.
