SEVILLE

Set in the heart of the fertile river valley, Seville is the regional capital and the cosmopolitan heart of Andalucia. Historically, Seville played an important role in the commerce between Spain and the Americas, and still remains one of the most active river ports in Spain today.

Famous and infamous figures of history have once dwelt in this quaint city. The legendary "Don Juan" started from here to conquer the hearts of women across all Europe, while Columbus started from a port close to Seville to discover a new world.

And now it continues to weave its magic and charm to the locals and visitors alike. One would surely be mesmerized by the might of Spain’s most important river, Guadalquivir, The great cathedrals declared as World Heritage Sites can be found in this town. In fact, one of Europe's biggest cathedrals is situated here, the vast Gothic Cathedral whose famous minaret, the Giralda, is the best place for a bird's-eye view of the city. As a modern day religious and traditional celebration, the Sevillian people enjoy loud and big parties especially during Feria de Abril, and long daily processions that are both solemn and spectacular during the Semana Santa.

The city is also popular for its buzzing nightlife and homely taverns. And a relaxing stroll through the winding streets and pretty squares, during summer evenings is the best way to put an end to one glorious day.
