Gibraltar dominates the entrance to the Mediterranean between the southern tip of Spain and the continent of Africa. Gibraltar is located in the south western part of Europe bordering the Strait of Gibraltar. It links the North Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea on the southern coast of Spain.
Gibraltar's main source of income comes from its position as an international conference centre, shipping trade, and banking. Contributing to the local economy is the decrease in the presence of British military. The tourism also contributes to the economy as there are many popular tourist destinations such as the 426-meter high Rock and the area where 250 Barbary ages are located.
